REAL Charts: Phenix City home sales up 8 percent in 2016 over the previous year

Phenix City home sales in 2016 rose 8 percent over total home sales in 2015.

According to the chart above, home sales in the Phenix City area totaled 1,006 last year, compared to 933 the year before.

The five-year average from 2011-15 for Phenix City was 942, 7 percent below the 2016 results.

The median sales price for the area rose slightly to $146,306, compared to $140,266 in 2015.

On average, it took 137 days for a home to leave the market in 2016, up from 128 days last year.

Inventory declined to 632 units, a slight decrease from 636 the prior year. The inventory-to-sales ratio was 7.6 months during 2016. Restated, at the 2016 pace, it would took 7.6 months for listed inventory to be absorbed.
